I wish I knew how to fake the date on this entry, so that I could make it look like I got right home and blogged like I planned to, rather than forgetting to do so and having to talk myself up over a month later...but, oh well...

HUGGY "ENTERTAINS" ON NATIONAL RADIO!"

"This afternoon" I cracked up a NATIONAL audience on the Hugh Hewitt radio program. Hugh was talking about "tonight's" Dan Rather interview of Saddam Hussein, and he was asking callers to submit possible questions Dan was going to ask Saddam.

I got on through my cell, and made it to the air, and said, "I'm sure Dan will ask something along the lines of, 'Isn't this whole inspection process kind of like a too-long ride home from the beach in a sandy swimsuit?" (in reference to some of the homespun Texas colloquialisms that Dan spouted the night of the 2000 election) Hugh cracked up!

I am rarely "proud" of the Hollywood crowd...I think the last time I felt really good about an Oscar speech was when Tom Hanks won for "Philadelphia".

But tonight, I truly am proud of that it was nearly two hours into the ceremony before a blowhard "celeb" took a shot at the President and our brave men and women who are fighting in Iraq. I am proud that the REST of the CELEBRITIES BOO'D DIPSHIT MICHAEL MOORE OFF STAGE!!! And I am proud of Steve Martin for making MORE fun of him after he was gone.

May Michael Moore never make another picture. If he does, may he never sell another ticket. May he descend into the obscurity his small spirit deserves.

Following is a copy of my letter to Tom Ridge, Director of the Office of Homeland Security, that I emailed today.

Regarding the new threat Advisory system put in place in response to 9/11. I have had a problem with it since its creation.

For decades, military and first responders and students of self-defense have used a 4-tier system of threat assessment, red=severe, orange=elevated, yellow=watchful, WHITE=NO RISK.

Now, I have no problem with the addition of another level--that makes some sense to me. However, the colors chosen for those levels are counter-intuitive. Anyone who has seen a color chart or a rainbow knows that the colors go naturally from red to orange to yellow to GREEN THEN TO BLUE!

Also, psychologically, green is a calm color, but blue is generally considered to be "peaceful", as in "pacific blue"...

I realize that it is now too late to make national changes over aesthetic issues such as these, but I have been sitting on this complaint all of these months and couldn't hold it any longer.

I'm sorry, but it had to be said.
