A Tale of Three Idiots

Three headlines in today's news:

1. Army Lieutenant Ehren Watada, based in Fort Lewis, Washington, is refusing to go with his unit to Iraq. Despite the fact that he both enlisted into the Army and received his commission after the start of the war in Iraq, now that his unit has been called, he suddenly thinks the war is, "A grave injustice", and that it "is not only a terrible moral injustice but a contradiction to the Army's own Law of Land Warfare'' ... I just finished the book "1776" and read that "the Father of our Country" George Washington summarily executed soldiers who refused to go to battle. Watada deserves no better.

2. The #2 official at the U.N., Mark Malloch Brown, said yesterday that the American public was shielded from "good" news about the U.N. by Washington's tolerance of what he called "too much unchecked U.N.-bashing and stereotyping.""Much of the public discourse that reaches the U.S. heartland has been largely abandoned to its loudest detractors such as Rush Limbaugh and Fox News." He also accused the U.S. of being "stingy" with the U.N. Hmm...the U.S. is the single largest monetary contributor to the U.N., their "diplomats" regularly mooch off of the good graces of the people of the U.S. and of New York while abusing our laws and thumbing their noses at our culture. I think that nice structure at First Avenue at 46th Street might be much better used by American enterprise, were the U.N. to be deported. France would love them...

3. Conservative columnist Ann Coulter recently wrote of the widows of 9/11 victims, "These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis," and, "These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9-11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them." The idiot I'm citing in this story isn't Coulter, but rather the shrieking media, including Fox News Bill O'Reilly, who are crying that Coulter might have hurt peoples' feelings. We conservatives are forced to bend over and take it day after day after day from the left-wing media and other liberal spokes-holes who vilify us in much harsher terms. I consider Ann Coulter to be a HERO for speaking out against what she calls "the Witches of East Brunswick" for turning the deaths of their husbands as a cause celebre to bash our nation's policies, leadership and culture "in their husbands' memory"! Go Ann!!!
